Running a network marketing business, we are faced with the decision of which marketing techniques we should implement into our business. Some strategies are essentially “free” while others cost money and these costs can vary quite a bit.
It’s critical to keep in mind when choosing paid or free strategies that whatever we don’t spend in money, we will have to spend in time and vice versa.
At the end of the day, it is really a matter of perspective.
While you may not have to spend any money out of your bank account on a free strategy, it will cost you your time, so it is important to decide how much your time is worth to you!
I’m not saying that these 4 methods aren’t worth doing just because they are free. I’m just pointing out that you will have to invest your time if you want to see any significant results.
I actually believe the following techniques can be quite effective in generating free network marketing leads, so let’s not waste any more time!
4 Marketing Strategies To Generate Free Network Marketing Leads:
1. Article Marketing
Article marketing can be one of the most effective ways to get huge amounts of traffic to your website, but it needs to be done correctly. Article marketing is not simply throwing up an article on a blog every once in a while.
You will need to do some keyword research first, to decide what you should be writing about and what keywords you are going to target. Then you will need to syndicate your content across the web and be sure that all of your syndicated content is pointing back to your original article.
You will also want to make sure that you are using the appropriate anchor text and that you are sending your traffic somewhere that will convert. It’s all well and good that they read your article, but you want to turn your traffic into leads!
There are many tools out there that can assist you with syndicating your content that can save you a lot of time. Some may be as little as $100 or less, while others may cost more, or even require an ongoing monthly fee.
If you decide that this is going to be one of your top strategies, I would most certainly recommend doing some research on a tool to help you automate the process. I realize that this doesn’t really make this strategy free, but it can save you so much time and is still such a small amount of money!
One other important thing I do want to mention here is when you are writing articles, the intent is to teach others and share information. Writing a bunch of garbage or spammy articles just to write something won’t really produce any long term results for you.
The great thing about article marketing is that if you do it right and share beneficial content, you will continue to get leads from an article you write today for several weeks or even years to come. The results are not going to be overnight, though, so it is important to remain patient and consistent. However, if you do stick with it, they will come.
2. Video Marketing
This is another good marketing method and to be honest, when I got started in this industry, I got some of my first sign-ups from this marketing method. This can be a very powerful technique because your prospects get to see you, not just your website.
It’s important again, that this marketing technique is done properly. Just as with article marketing, it’s not enough to just put up a video here or there. There is keyword research that needs to be done here as well.
Also, you will definitely want to have a YouTube account and it’s important that you treat YouTube as you would a social network like Facebook, for example. Meet other marketers, build relationships, provide value and share good content. As always, no spam here…just good quality content!
There are also some tools that you could use to help you disseminate your videos to multiple video sites, some free, some not. Just like before, do your research to decide what works with your budget and your needs!
3. Forum Marketing
Forum marketing can be a great free marketing method, again, when done correctly! Although, joining a handful of forums and then pitching your home business is the fastest way to NOT get free network marketing leads.
I’m always amazed by the number of people who actually do this. They join the forum, and put up a spammy post (no value, just spam). Then, they don’t even bother to put up a picture or signature or anything. It just seems like such an utter waste of time to me.
Don’t be that person…it will just be a waste of your time.
Instead, decide how many forums you can commit to, maybe 1-3 to start. Take the few minutes to put up a picture and fill out your profile.
Wondering what to do next?
Well, first of all, like I mentioned before – no pitching in your posts. Any and all selling belongs in your signature. By the way, make sure the link in your signature offers people more than just a generic company capture page or website.
Forums are places where people with similar interests can share information and ideas. It’s a place to ask questions and have questions answered. That’s what you want to be doing.
Participate in the conversation and get to know other people on the forum. A forum is very much like a community and it is a good place to meet people and build relationships. Be sure you are leading with value and you won’t go wrong.
Earlier, I mentioned your forum signature, and I want to touch on that a bit more here. You have the opportunity to put a link or maybe two in your signature so don’t waste them Most forums provide you with the opportunity to add a link or two to your signature so be sure you are utilizing them properly.
Send people to your blog in one link, and maybe a personally branded capture page in the other. Always be mindful to not send them to generic websites as that doesn’t brand you as a leader!
By providing value in your posts on the forum and being an active part of the community, others will naturally become interested in you and will look to your signature to learn more about you. That is how you will generate leads, so make sure you send them some place that can do that, like your own blog or your own capture page!
